How to spot roof damage after a storm in Kent

Kent gets its share of stormy weather, and the roof takes the worst of it. After a bad night of wind and rain, it is worth taking a few minutes to check for damage before a small issue turns into a leak.

From the ground, look for slipped or missing tiles, especially along the ridge and around the edges. Check that lead flashing around chimneys and where the roof meets a wall is still sitting flat. Look at the guttering for sagging, overflowing joints or pieces that have come loose.

Inside, check the loft for daylight coming through, damp patches on the felt or timbers, and any water staining on upstairs ceilings. Catching a leak early usually means a simple repair rather than a much larger job later on.

If you spot anything you are not sure about, it is always safer to have a roofer take a proper look than to climb up yourself. We cover Gravesham, Medway, Canterbury and the wider Kent area, and every repair we carry out is fully guaranteed.
